The two goals I have set for myself during the start of the course were to gain confidence and speak comfortably in an impromptu situation, and to be a more proactive communicator when socialising with friends and classmates. I learnt that confidence comes from knowledge and passion. When the speaker is knowledgeable and passionate about a topic, regardless of the situation, confidence comes naturally. One specific class activity helped me achieve this goal, the impromptu group sharing on articles and informative websites in class. Being placed in a situation where I have a limited time to absorb and share large amounts of new knowledge with my classmates, taught me to be engaging and concise in my delivery and content, and also confident and comfortable to speak in an impromptu situation.
